March 17, 2011- Today, we sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking that he apply “Equal Justice Under Law” by prosecuting Justice Thomas for three serious crimes:
- Violation of various false statement statutes by falsifying 20 years of Financial Disclosure Forms, denying that his wife had any non-investment income
- Engaging in official corruption by ruling in favor of Citizens United in 2010 while withholding the information that Citizens United supported his nomination to the Supreme Court in 1991 with at least $100,000 in advertising
- Engaging in judicial insider trading by apparently tipping off his wife before the ruling in Citizens United so she could launch a new organization called Liberty Central to take advantage of the Supreme Court's loosening of the restrictions on campaign finance law—she then raised over a half million dollars enriching herself and her husband.
